SERVING SENIORS - HOMELESS SENIORS PROGRAM
San Diego, California, USA.
“Our senior clients are extremely low-income, living on less than $1,000/month and paying an average of $750 in rent – leaving just a few dollars a day to pay for food, medication, transportation and other expenses.”
Through the Homeless Seniors Program homeless seniors meet with case managers who provide them with access to temporary housing, meals, health care services and counseling during a 90-day transitional period.
Case managers help individuals to create a plan for stable senior housing and independent living.
The program can help seniors with:
- Senior benefits such as Social Security or Medicare.
- Saving money.
- Health and medical assistance.
The goal of the program is to help those in need to provide permanent, affordable senior housing.
