Program Description
"Rapid Re-Housing moves people directly from instances of homelessness into their own rental unit by providing short-term financial assistance in form of initial rent, security deposits, and/or utility assistance.”
"The primary goal of Supportive Housing is to provide safe, secure rental units, offering independent living and a permanent residence. It provides flexible and accessible support through on-site case managers."

Permanent housing units are provided for elderly many who have experienced chronic homelessness.
Columbus House's Whalley Terrace provides on-site case management services for elderly tenants.
The goal of Columbus House is to “one day end homelessness as we know it.”
In addition to providing elderly with permanent housing through Whalley Terrace Columbus House also provides the following services:
-Emergency Shelters.
-Employment Services.
-Outreach to those with mental illness and substance abuse issues who are living under bridges, in abandoned buildings and on the streets.
-Peer Support Educators who are themselves in recovery serving to help toward recovery and independence.
-Road To Recovery provides transportation for those who are eligible to treatment centers.
-Starting Over Program supports those on parole by providing case management, peer support, and employment services.
Columbus House is committed to Rapid Re-Housing getting people into permanent housing as quickly as possible so they are better able to access support services after securing housing.
