Housing Community for Homeless Seniors - Towne Twin Village is building housing units for homeless seniors which include tiny houses, apartments and RVs. The housing community is aimed to help solve the issue of senior homelessness and those who have:
- Disabilities.
- Chronic medical illnesses and mental health challenges.
- Orthopedic and mobility disabilities.
- Are high users of public services (ER, EMS, in-patient medical or psychiatric care, justice system, etc.)
The Towne Twin Village community will provide supportive senior services including hot meals for seniors at the community center, a healthcare at the clinic and a hub for public transportation.
Additional support services for homeless seniors include:
· Counseling.
· Case management.
· Medical, dental and mental health clinics.
· Meals and food pantry groceries.
· Barber and nail grooming.
· Community garden, dog park, recreation space.
· Connection to a wide variety of services.
The community will also house a Day House for those who need short-term help with a kitchen, dining areas, laundromat, showers, hygiene and clothing supply area, mail room, counseling room, and office.
The Housing First Community Coalition provides care and support to older adults who are homeless, poor, marginalized, or experiencing food insecurity and is committed to ending chronic homelessness in the older adult population.
