"DREAM FOUNDATION - DREAM GRANTING" PROGRAM
Santa Barbara, CA, USA.
Program available across the United States.
"Dream Foundation grants final dreams from the heart for adults with a life-limiting illness. From our headquarters in Santa Barbara, and with a network of volunteers and supporters, we serve those in the greatest need
around the country."
Examples of dreams and wishes for the terminally ill include: time with their loved ones, to take a trip they’ve always dreamed of, leaving a legacy, or publishing a book, helping with paying bills, or a free wheelchair ramp installed.
Travel dreams may require a doctor to sign a medical authorization form. Due to the fragile heath condition of wish recipients, the Dream Foundation works closely with physicians, nurses and social workers to determine the right time to safely grant a terminally ill person their wish.
Individuals, organizations or corporations can help the terminally ill by:
Adopting a Dream - specific requests for wishes can be found on the Dream Foundation website. Donors can help contribute to a dream with a monetary donation.
Donating Airline Miles - contributing airline miles allows loved one to come together for bedside reunions or a vacation making dreams come true.
Volunteer – volunteers in schools, neighborhoods, and communities can contribute to helping dreams for the terminally ill come true through providing in-kind donations, fundraising, and increasing awareness of the program.
In-kind donations are accepted to provide elderly and adults with life threating illnesses with free no cost:
-Scooters and Powered Wheelchairs, Laptop computers, Televisions, Dental services
-Air Miles, Airline Vouchers, Hotel Rooms
-Limo or Rental Car services
-Tickets to attend a show or sports event
-Gift Cards for Restaurant chains, Gas Station chains, Building Supply stores, Discount Retail stores.
The “Dream Foundation – Dream Granting” Program receives no state or federal funding and relies on sponsors and supporters to make a wish come true for the terminally ill.
