"ANNUAL EAC NATIONAL HOUSING FOR OLDER PEOPLE AWARDS" PROGRAM
East, East Midlands, London, North East, North West, South East, South West, West Midlands, Yorkshire & Humberside, United Kingdom.
Program Description
" 'We wanted residents to tell us about the environment in which they live and about the facilities and services they use,' explains Alex Billeter, project manager at EAC, and the man who designed the game. 'Residents are often subject to lengthy satisfaction surveys, which they complete on their own and may struggle with. We asked ourselves how can we find an enjoyable way for them to provide us with information?' The card game was the answer."

Elderly residents rate their nursing care home in different categories of design, services, and well-being by playing a card game.
The results are gathered confidentiality and then the home is nominated for the best senior housing care home for seniors in the UK.
Staff of nursing homes are not allowed to listen in or influence the process in anyway.
Results of the senior resident survey or schemes are submitted to the Elderly Accommodation Counsel (EAC). Afterwards the management of the nursing home, assisted living or other senior living facility can receive the overall score analysis of their care home's results.
The goal of the "Annual EAC National Housing for Older People Awards" Program is to:
-Award the best assisted living, or retirement care home through an annual award
-To engage senior residents across the UK so that they can participate in rating their nursing care home
-To hopefully raise the standards of care and housing for elderly in the future
