Program Description
College students tutor older immigrants and refugees in basic English language skills, U.S. history, and civics needed to pass the naturalization exam.
Students teach English to seniors on a volunteer basis and in some cases as interns to receive college credits.
An added gift of the Project Shine program is that it can help the elderly communicate and speak to their grandchildren in the United States in English.
