Program Description
Seniors First BC Support Educational programs include:
-Seniors Reaching Out to Seniors Program - Seniors presenting workshops to other seniors on elder abuse prevention, including 'How to Help a Friend Who Has Been Abused,' and 'Protect Yourself Preventing Financial Abuse.'
-Community workshops and presentations: Workshops on the justice system and on legal issues with respect to senior advocacy and rights
-Community forums and events on senior advocacy and issues
Seniors First BCis committed to protecting the legal rights of older adults, increasing access to justice for older adults, informing the public about elder abuse and providing supportive programs for older adults who have been abused.

BC Centre for Elder & Advocacy Legal Advocacy Program A trained legal advocate who is a paralegal provides legal information to those who call the Seniors Advocacy & Information Line. Advocates also provide legal representation to older adults with problems related to access to safe housing, access to government benefits and pensions and elder abuse.
BC Centre for Elder & Advocacy Elder Law Clinic Program Provides free legal services to seniors/older adults age 55+.
BC Centre for Elder & Advocacy Support Victim Services Program: Helps victims of elder abuse or a crime to access the justice system and provides them with emotional support.
