Older adults in Calgary and surrounding areas are eligible to be nominated for the Top 7 Over 70 Awards.
Older adults making a significant contributions can be nominated under the following areas:
- Health and Recreation.
- Arts and Culture.
- Science.
- Business.
- Volunteerism.
- Environment.
- Overcoming Adversity.
- Making a Difference.
The Top 7 Over 70 Awards gala raises funds to help support InterGen a project which creates intergenerational career programs that engage seniors and younger people. Older adults are available to mentor younger adults and provide a pool of networks. Seniors and younger people are able to exchange ideas, advice and experience.
Matching career active older adults who otherwise would have been at traditional 'retiring age' with young entrepreneurs aims to strengthen the workplace by building multigenerational teams.
