Program Description
The Seniors for Seniors Program can place senior pets who are generally less adoptable into loving homes to become pets for the elderly.
Elderly pay no adoption fee and receive medical expense assistance.
Requirements for the Nike Animal Rescue Foundation's Seniors for Seniors Program for applicants are:
-Must be over the age of 62
-Must be physically and mentally capable of caring for the animal including walking dog, feeding, exercising, cleaning cats litter boxes, and administering medications if needed
-Must be capable of taking the animal to the Vet, if needed, and to the groomer
-Owns home or rents with landlord's written approval Renter must have lived at the same residence for at lest one year. Committee must also talk to landlord.
-Committee must complete a normal interview application with senior applicant
-Senior must be willing to allow home checks and schedule periodic home visits
The Nike Animal Rescue Foundation (NARF) is a non-profit, all volunteer organization. NARF is dedicated to protecting dogs and cats by eliminating animal overpopulation through spay and neuter programs and public education. NARF provides medical care and locate quality, permanent homes for animals.
