Program Description
“A 76-year-old clarinet player drove in from Camarillo. A 14-year-old violinist who lives near LAX was driven in by her mother. They took their seats with more than 70 other members of the orchestra, some of whom arrived on foot or by bus, bicycle or scooter. A 48-year-old doctor who works on Skid Row set up near a shy middle school student. A retired theater director, 73, took his place in the double bass section, near three high school percussionists.”

The Heart of LA’s (HOLA) Eisner Intergenerational Music Program brings together singers, big band and orchestral musicians of all ages and skill levels together in a multicultural environment.
Performers in the Intergenerational Music Program benefit from interactions with each other and their varied skill levels and experiences.
The Heart of Los Angeles Eisner Intergenerational Choir, Intergenerational Orchestra, and the Intergenerational Big Band hold free performances and concerts across the Los Angeles area.
In addition to Heart of LA’s Eisner Intergenerational Music, Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) also provides free academic support and enrichment programs from elementary through high school, visual arts department, premiere sport leagues and clinics, leadership and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) along with tutoring, enrichment activities, classes, field trips, and parent and in-school support.
