Program Description
“So when residents couldn’t receive their usual visitors we brought them hundreds more.”
“So many seniors are isolated and would enjoy hearing and seeing you share something you enjoy. Whether it is a song, some poetry, art you’ve created or maybe you can solve a Rubik’s cube in record-breaking speed. Show us your garden. Or your collection. Make it something you love. And tell us why. Amateur or professional – all are welcome.”

Since in person visits for older adults are not possible during the COVID-19 pandemic the need for socialization to take place virtually is needed more than ever.
Generus has asked community members to step up and help the elderly by creating their own video content geared toward older adults in the form of a volunteer video visit.
Generus volunteer video visits should be a few minutes and can range in topic from learning a new skill, tutorials singing, art, poetry, pets, a memory, cooking, a hobby and more.
Video visits are beneficial for the overall health and well-being of elderly in senior facilities. The Generus video visits program is made in partnership with the National Council on Aging (NCOA) and Meals on Wheels of America. Generus aims to engage in volunteer projects built on human connection and meaning.
