Program Description
"Seniors are home during the day, they see a lot, they’re staples in their community. They know a lot of people. They are the eyes and ears who can assist the Police Department. They’re the ones who can bring back that ‘it takes a village’ kind of community because somewhere along the way we’ve lost that.” -Capt. Susan Cole, Program Coordinator, Newark Police Department.
"Police departments all over the country have set up senior citizen police academies, with the idea being to better inform a segment of the population that tends to have strong ties to a community."
