DOSOMETHING.ORG AND MEALS ON WHEELS VALENTINES LOVE LETTERS CHALLENGE

Program Description

“Often times when a Meals on Wheels volunteer delivers a meal, it is the only person that senior will see all day. That means the volunteer can really makes a difference, as just seeing a friendly face of someone who cares goes a long way…Imagine the delight a senior would feel if on Valentine’s Day they had an extra reminder than someone cares. The simple action of making a Valentine’s Day card for a senior could do just that!”

Volunteers make Valentine’s Day cards for senior which are delivered with their meal.

Students may go to DoSomething.org sign up for the challenge, upload photos and enter to win a scholarship.

Both organizations encourage youth and others to make an older adult feel extra special on Valentines Day.

DoSomething.org is a youth activism organization which encourages young people to become active in their communities and engage in issues affecting seniors, the homeless, fighting bullying, hate crimes, environmental issues, fighting cancer, animal rights and much more.
