Program Description
The"Academy of Senior Health Sciences" hands out three types of recognition awards to elderly nursing care facilities:
The Perfect Survey Award -is presented to nursing homes and nursing facilities with zero deficiencies in the Ohio Department of Health’s annual survey.
The Perfect Life Safety Survey Award - is presented to nursing homes and nursing facilities with zero deficiencies in the Ohio Department of Health’s Life Safety survey.
The Award of Excellence- is presented to nursing homes and nursing facilities with three or fewer deficiencies in the Ohio Department of Health’s annual survey.
Other benefits of recognizing nursing homes through awards
is that they may enourage other nursing facilities to improve their environment and start a culture change.
Elderly nursing care facilities must be members of the "Academy of Senior Health Sciences" (Ohio Academy of Nursing Homes,) an organization with the main concern of advocating for skilled nursing facilities on legislative and regulatory issues.
The" Academy of Senior Health Sciences" also provides online training and continuing education credits to the long-term care community in Ohio including: Activity CEUs, Nursing CEUs, OT CEUs, PT CEUs, Social Work CEUs, and SLP CEUs.
