The Nursing Home Infection Preventionist Training Course aims to help prevent elderly in nursing homes from being at risk for infection.
Infectious disease control and prevention training is appropriate for physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, licensed practical and vocational nurses, nursing home administrators, program managers, and other health educators.
The aim of infection prevention and control training is to identify:
- Ways pathogens spread in nursing homes.
- Risk factors that contribute to infections and antibiotic resistance.
- Recommended infection prevention and control practices and strategies to detect, prevent, and control pathogen transmission in nursing homes.
- How the infection preventionist works with nursing home staff, health departments and others.
