because they're here so as activity directors our jobs is to help them continue a quality of life no matter
what level of participation they come from…it doesn't stop amazing me how simple programs like this can bring response from a resident that may not respond on a daily basis.”

Senior residents of nursing homes are brought in wheel chairs outdoors in a natural setting where they can pet, brush, play fetch with or roll balls to the horses.
Like pet therapy, equine assisted therapy can support mental health along with the emotional, social and physical well-being of older adults.
