Eldergrow provides accessible, mobile, gardens on wheels to allow for easy relocation within senior living and nursing care facilities.
Eldergrow’s accessible gardening program provides gardening help for seniors and is ideal for older adults in wheelchairs, when seated, or standing.
Therapeutic horticulture can benefit older adults and those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias by creating a connection to nature and opportunities for sensory interaction.
Gardening for seniors promotes physical and cognitive activity, creative stimulation, social experiences with caregivers, staff and other residents and allows for a mindful and spiritual outlet.
Eldergrow gardening programs include:
- Raised Garden Beds for Seniors – provides gardening help for seniors who have limited mobility or are in a wheelchair.
- Culinary Herb D-I-Y Gardens – provides coaching, cooking demos, recipes, class activities.
- Farm-to-Fork Herb Garden & Activity Kit – includes seed packets, plants, gardening tools, gardening gloves, watering can, plant stakes, garden signs, organic fertilizer.
- 5 Senses Activity Kit – activities, crafts and video tutorials to help senior residents engage all five senses of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch. Examples include working with herbs such as lavender, mint, and rosemary and experimenting with lotions.
Eldergrow helps seniors to start or continue to garden while living in elder care facilities, allowing for the opportunity to connect with nature, be creative, taste, learn, and socialize.
