"CAMPS FOR CARING - ALZHEIMER'S AND OTHER DEMENTIAS" PROGRAM
Program Description
Those with Alzheimer's and other dementias are assigned a volunteer camp buddy who are either young adults or others that assist with activities for Alzheimer's and other dementia.
The weekend camp for those with Alzheimer's and other dementia provides:
-Assistance and respite to Alzheimer's and other dementia caregivers
-A
change in routine and a natural camp environment to those with Alzheimer's and other dementias
Activites for those with Alzheimer's and other dementia include:
-Shared meals
-Stories
-Creative
and expressive activities
-Exercise outdoors
-Connections of
new friends and new memories
