“Wolf Creek Lodge Cohousing Community for Active Adults” Program is ideal for seniors wishing to retire and live in an active small neighborhood of privately owned homes, shared open spaces, and a common house for shared meals and community gatherings.
Seniors have the option to engage in an active social life with neighbors and the opportunity to help each other rather than hiring caregivers or senior support services. Whatever services are required by seniors can be bought and shared if needed thus providing a supportive lifestyle and a way for seniors to save money. The planned neighborhood encourages walking and is ideal for getting around and shared ride services can be arranged and shared if needed.
Some of the advantages of senior cohousing as a retirement home option include:
-Being connected to a community of peers while aging has been shown to improve well being and overall senior health
-Security and safety of living in communal retirement senior housing. Neighbors are able to watch out for each other
-Seniors are able to continue to live independently by making their own decisions about how to spend their time rather than having to live off of someone else’s schedule
