Program Description
SOME’s Senior Housing program includes apartment homes and single room occupancy units.
Residents share a bathroom, kitchen, and laundry facilities with two to three other residents.
Senior housing staff provides support services such as assisting with resource navigation, age-appropriate programming, and nutritional access and food services.
SOME advocates for policies and programs that benefit those experiencing homelessness, those at risk of homelessness and extreme poverty.
SOME also provides emergency housing for seniors who have been abused, neglected, financially exploited, or displaced at Kuehner Place, a transitional housing program.
SOME aims to Break the Cycle of Poverty and Homelessness. The organization is a care provider and a beacon of hope to DC residents, including individuals, families, senior citizens, veterans and those affected by physical or mental health challenges.
