The “NSW Livable Communities Project aims to identify concepts, designs and features that make communities more ‘liveable’ for older people and how these designs for aging can be incorporated into community plans.
The 'Livable Communities Project' has analyzed checklists and guidelines that make communities more liveable for seniors, highlighted the issues most relevant to older Australians and conducted workshops with council and the community.
The “NSW Livable Communities Project covers senior housing and community design issues such as:
-Age and Place.
-Basic Age-Friendly Checklist (checklist for livable communities from the perspective of an ageing population.)
-Role of urban form in sustaining an ageing population.
-Barriers to universal design in Australia.
-Housing livability in Australia.
