Program Description
The "HUD HOPE IV" Program combines Section 8 rental vouchers and rental assistance with senior supportive services to enhance the quality of life of seniors, promote independent living and avoid elderly from unnecessary or prematurely moving into nursing care facilities or assisted living.
Senior service coordinators assess senior resident needs, and link them with appropriate services.
Eligible senior services include housekeeping, transportation, home-delivered meals, in home health care, personal care, meals at a senior center, recreation, and counseling.
A senior service coordinator may also educate seniors about what services are available and how to use them or help seniors build informal support networks with other seniors or family, and friends.
