The "Seniors Preparing For Rainbow Years – SPRY" Program provides gay seniors with counseling, therapy and peer support, along with help navigating social security, medi-care, disability and other benefit programs.
Educational and social enrichment are a part of the program.
The "Seniors Preparing For Rainbow Years – SPRY" Program also engages in gay rights advocacy encouraging health care providers to better serve the needs of gay seniors.
The Montrose Counseling Center has been a prototype for other gay senior assistance programs across the country. Counselling may prevent some gay seniors from "returning to the closet."
