“OLDER ADULT TREATMENT” PROGRAM
Hemet, CA, USA.
Program Description
Seniors in the "Older Adult Treatment" Program are separated into age-specific therapy groups where older adults come together exclusively with other seniors. Drug abuse treatment works best when the issues dealt with are congruent with the life stage of the individual.
Drug addiction treatment begins with a medical evaluation and drug dependency testing to establish baseline health status. Detoxification protocols are adjusted for the special needs of older adults.
Along with drug abuse treatment the program also puts emphasis on helping elderly cope with depression, loneliness, and loss and rebuilding or establishing a social support network and also follows holistic and spiritual practices.
Drug abuse treatment and services are provided in a hospital setting with care provided through an interdisciplinary treatment team that includes; Physicians, Registered Nurses, Certified Counselors, Psychologists, Adjunctive Therapists, Dieticians, and if necessary Physical Therapists and Psychiatrists.
The "Older Adult Treatment" Program recovery center also maintains outdoor gardens and patios.
