HEART OF DINNER
Founders - Yin Chang and Moonlynn Tsai.
Edward Charles Foundation. New York City, NY, USA.
“Their late-night conversations about the global impact of COVID-19 and the heightened racism towards Asian Americans soon became questions around how to create positive change.”
“Heart of Dinner exists to combat food insecurity and isolation within NYC’s elderly Asian American community. We do this by delivering care packages of hot lunches and fresh produce every Wednesday, lovingly paired with a handwritten and illustrated letter in their native language to bring warmth and comfort.”
Heart of Dinner's free senior meal home delivery service partners with local restaurants, bakeries and farms to provide Asian-friendly meals for elderly living in New York City.
The service addresses food insecurity in the elderly Asian community while supporting local restaurants and businesses.
Heart of Dinner is looking for volunteers to pack or deliver free seniors meals, write notes to seniors, and engage in marketing and fundraising efforts.
