Program Description
"End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium" trainers host professional development seminars, training sessions and incorporate end of life care content into nursing curriculum, for practicing nurses.
Training is also held for other health care professionals.
Teaching materials and case studies are included.
The" End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium" (ELNEC) Project is a national end-of-life educational program administered by City of Hope National Medical Center (COH) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) designed to enhance palliative care in nursing. The ELNEC Project was originally funded by a grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation withadditional support from funding organizations (the National Cancer Institute, Aetna Foundation, Archstone Foundation, and California HealthCare Foundation)
The ELNEC-GERIATRIC Training is a special ELNEC train-the-trainer courses for geriatric nurses in long-term care and skilled nursing facilities and hospices acute care settings, clinics, and homecare.
