'The Way We Get By' is a documentary about three senior citizen's who have made it their mission to meet American troops returning from Iraq at a small airport in Bangor, Maine. The film deals with issues such as the deteriorating health of the seniors, depression, life, death and redemption. The documentary depicts how our culture casts aside elders and sometimes our soldiers. It also shows senior citizens in a positive light by highlighting their impact on the community. 'The Way We Get By' has been nominated for an Emmy Award.
