Program Description
"The mission of the organization Generations United is to improve the lives of children, youth, and older people through intergenerational collaboration, public policies, and programs for the enduring benefit of all.”

Generations United provides senior leaders and volunteers with the latest information and policy development so that they may advocate for children in their communities.
Older adults have successfully advocated on behalf of children on the folowing issues:
- Quality early care and education.
- Early literacy and grade-level reading.
- Home visiting.
- School meals.
Some of the activities older adults can become involved in are:
-Sending emails and letters.
-Calling legislators.
-Writing letters to the editor.
-Visiting with policymakers.
-Recruiting other Captains4Kids.
