Program Description
• Boomers comprise about 30% of Global Volunteers volunteer base
• Team participation by Boomers has increased six-fold in the last decade
• More intergenerational family groups are volunteering today than in past years
• More than 30% of volunteers join another Global Volunteers program and refer their friends
International volunteer opportunities for boomers include reaching out to at-risk children, community elders, and others in need in Africa, Asia, Pacific, Europe, North/Central America, South America.
Volunteer vacations combine senior travel with education, adventure in a unique cultural environment. Older adults return to their home country with fulfilling new knowledge.
Global Volunteers has been granted Special Consultative Status with the United Nations and has a relationship with UNICEF.
