WHEREMary Martin Niepold – President/Chairman Funding from Blessing Project – Founder, Beverly Johnston Kenya and Tanzania, Africa.
Program Description
Income generated by the cooperatives is used to provide healthcare, education and a home for grandchildren who may have otherwise become orphans.
African grandmothers become grandparents caring for grandchildren and act as role models for other women in their communities.
The Nyanya Project organizes grandmothers into cooperatives to ensure long-term economic sustainability by generating, managing and reinvesting income, distributing funds for the women's immediate needs and setting an example of leadership for younger women in their villages and neighborhoods.
