"Aged care professionals provide a wide range of services to older people, from keeping them healthy and living independently at home, to preventing and managing illness, and providing high-level care to the frail...It is important that we recognise and honour those aged care professionals who go above and beyond the call of duty to improve the health and well-being of older people, regardless of their personal circumstances."

Outstanding aged care professionals can be nominated for the following categories:
-Individual Distinction- recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to aged care in Australia, through development and/or provision of a high quality care to the aged.
-Outstanding Organization -recognizes an organization, which has made an outstanding contribution to aged care in Australia, through development and/or provision of high quality care to the aged.
-Team Innovation - an aged care team that has demonstrated innovation with a collaborative and inclusive approach to their work. A team that shows a willingness to share their knowledge contributing to a healthier future for aged Australians.
The winner of each category will share a $60,000 prize and be awarded a trophy at an awards dinner.
