Program Description
The Volunteer Guardianship for the Elderly Program trains community members to serve as volunteer guardians for elderly and disabled individuals who are unable to make decisions about their own care.
Older adults are referred to the program after being identified as at-risk for abuse, neglect or exploitation.
Volunteer guardians serve as a friend and advocate to seniors.
The LifeCycles organization also has a
Family Guardianship Program and is a member of the National Guardianship Association. Lifecycles purchases materials for distribution to people interested in family guardianship and other alternatives.
