Program Description
Senior Rights Victoria provides information to increase awareness of elder abuse for professionals and communities, engages in elder abuse prevention research, and advocates for policy changes and law reform.
The Elder Abuse Response Toolkit is designed to increase awareness of elder abuse for professionals working with older adults by provide information about the types of elder abuse, signs to watch for and what to do about it. The toolkit also includes information about what to do when someone refuses help for elder abuse.
The toolkit is aimed at the following professionals who work with older adults:
- Direct care workers in the aged and/or disability care.
- Family violence workers.
- Health professionals.
- Case workers and case managers.
- Housing workers.
- Finance industry workers.
Seniors Rights Victoria promotes the rights of older adults based on the United Nations Principles for Older Persons right to:

-Self-fulfilment
-Dignity
