"DON'T DUMP DRUGS DOWN DRAINS 5-D" PROGRAM
WHAT Volunteers collect medications from the homes of seniors for safe disposal.
WHYThe program provides an alternative to dumping medications down the drain, toilet or putting them in the garbage. This is important because drugs can be a potential source of supply for illegal use and also pose a contamination risk to the water supply and general public health and safety.

Program Description
Seniors can surrender expired or unwanted prescription drugs for safe disposal at the Santa Clara Police Department or volunteer may be able to pick up unwanted prescription drugs from senior's homes.
The organization, "Heart of the Valley" assists seniors on the principle of small town values of, neighborhood, community, respect and caring.
