Program Description

The "Dementia Care Manager Training Program trains those who manage Alzheimer's and Dementia Units includeing policy and procedures.

The "Dementia Care Manager Training" Program also trains on the following topics:

-Diagnosis Prognosis Treatment
-Communicaton
-Feelings
-Depression
-Repetitive Behaviors
-Paranoia, Hallucinations
-Wandering
-Hoarding
-Aggressive Behaviors
-Catastrophic Reactions
-Pain
-Intimacy, Sexuality
-Personal Care, Bathing, Dressing, Toileting
-Nutrition
-Activities
-Environment
-Staff and Family Support
-Diversity and Cultural Competence
-Spiritual Care
-End of Life Issues

Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP) Certification is available to all health care professionals who qualify.

The organization, NCCDP also sponsers "Alzheimer's and Dementia Staff Education Week" and provides free staff in-services available to download during November through March every year. This includes free power point, handouts, and testing.
