"Powell Care and Repair - Home Improvements for Aging in Place" Program uses Certified Aging-in-Place Specialists (CAPS) who have been trained in how to adapt senior's homes so that the elderly can continue to live comfortably, safely and independently.
The benefits of using a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist is that seniors will be working with a contractor who is familiar with senior's needs.
Home modifications for seniors may include:
• Wheelchair or Access Ramps so that seniors can safely move in and out of their home
• Bath and Shower Grab Bars for fall prevention
• Wider Doorways
• Barrier Free Showers
• Adjustment of countertop heights
• User Friendly Appliances
• Smooth Surface Flooring
• Curb less Shower stalls
A home assessment includes a visit by a Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist to the home of an elderly person. Any adaptations to make the home more "senior friendly" in order for them to continue living safely and independently at home are discussed and recommended.
The "Powell Care and Repair - Home Improvements for Aging in Place" Program is a part of the Powell Homes Company.
