Program Description
"This is a Grant with a maximum amount of $2,500 for moderate income households….for lower income households only…the City may determine to pay 100% of the wheelchair ramp cost, dependent upon total costs, availability of funds, and the applicant's ability to pay, up to a maximum of $3,500."

The free grant is available for building a wheelchair ramp that meets the construction standards and zoning codes established by the Disabled Access Guidelines.
The wheelchair ramp must be built by a licensed contractor to be chosen by the homeowner and subject to City approval. The contractor must have a business license, liability insurance, and workers’ compensation if applicable.
In addition to the free wheelchair ramp grant, the City Of Eureka Housing Redevelopment Department offers other home modification and rehabilitation programs.
Homeowners can borrow up money as a low interest loan to make home modifications or home repairs to residential plumbing, electrical, heating systems that effect health and safety.
