Program Description
The "Unlimited Choices Home Rehabilitation" Program are mainly for eligable elderly, people with physical disabilities as low-income by HUD guidelines and those who reside in Beaverton, Gresham or Portland Oregon, or Multnomah County renters or home owners including mobile homes and people of all ages.
The "Unlimited Choices Home Rehabilitation" Programs include:
"Adapt-A-Home" Program - makes accessible home modifications for eligible elderly, low-income people and those with physical disabilities. Home modifications may include:
- Wheelchair ramps
- Widened doorways
- Grab bars
- Raised toilets
- Hand rails
- Roll-in showers
- Other related modifications
"Mend-A-Home" Program - makes home repairs for eligible elderly, low-income owner occupied homeowners critical repairs may include:
- Structural, plumbing, mechanical or electrical system deterioration requiring emergency repair
- Roof, leaking, missing shingles or severely deteriorated
- Exterior porch, deck, stair repair
"Add-A-Bar" Program - minor accessibility and home safety modifications for eligible low-income seniors and people with physical disabilities including:
- Grab bars
- Handrails
- Handheld Showerheads
"Hope 4 Homes" Program - offers low interest or deferred payment loans to eligible homeowners for home repair, deferred maintenance and/ or energy efficiency. Home repairs may include:
- Structural, plumbing, mechanical or electrical systems repair or upgrade to code
- Roof and gutter replacement
- Exterior porch and stair replacement
- Exterior painting and siding repair
- Replacement of fencing or tree removal if threatening the structure
- Window replacement, insulation or other energy efficient upgrades
"Nuts & Bolts" Program - for individuals or families above a certain income level who can pay privately to have their home modifications made for more home safety access that may include:
- Wheelchair ramps
- Grab bars
- Widened doorways
- Raised porcelain toilets
- Hand rails
- Roll-in or step-in showers
- Other accessibility modifications as needed
"Lead Learning Center" Program - educational training of the EPA Lead Safety for renovation, repair, and painting required forl building construction contractors and others who require safe work practices training in working with lead based paint.
"Service Contract" Program - contracts offered to governmental agencies, insurance companies, housing providers or other private organizations wishing to provide housing rehabilitation services.
To aim of the "Unlimited Choice Home Rehabilitation" Program is to provide elderly home safety and safe home access to individuals with mobility impairments.
