The "Elderly Asian Women Suicide Prevention Workshop" Program is part of New York State's Elderly Suicide Women Prevention Awareness Campaign to raise community awareness about elderly suicide risk for Asian women who have the higher suicide rate among all female groups over age 75 in the U.S.
Presenters from Asian communities will address:
-Culturally relevant issues pertaining to elderly suicide risk factors and behaviors
-Culturally sensitive approaches to reach out to elderly Asian women who may be in distress and at risk for suicide
Social service providers, caregivers and college students serving the Asian community are encouraged to attend.
