The "DOROT Cemetary Visits " Program values the tradition of visiting loved one's’ gravesites and assists those who need assistance. The visits are also able to provide a form of therapy.
Volunteer escorts accompany seniors from door to door by transportation provided by DOROT.
Volunteers offer emotional support in handling the cemetary visit and dealing with the loss of a loved one.
The mission of "DOROT" is to alleviate social isolation among the elderly and provide services to help seniors live independently as valued members of the community. "DOROT" serves the Jewish and wider community, bringing generations together in a mutually beneficial partnership of elders, volunteers and professionals. "DOROT" makes its services available to seniors regardless of gender, race, or religion.
