ALL TERRAIN GEORGIA FREE WHEELCHAIR
The Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
Aimee Copeland Foundation. Georgia, USA.
“All-terrain track chairs are designed with safety in mind, giving Georgians who otherwise might not be able to navigate more difficult types of terrain the ability to hit the trails and easily navigate through mud, water, sand and snow. Qualifying park visitors can experience a sense of freedom that can be difficult to have in an everyday wheelchair.”
“The Action Trackchair reshaped the possibilities and expanded the world of individuals living with mobility impairments, and today is still revolutionizing it.”
The All Terrain Georgia Free Wheelchair program provides free all-terrain wheelchairs or Action Trackchairs that are available by reservation.
Individuals must become trained and certified to use the wheelchair and also be accompanied by a certified buddy.
Free all-terrain wheelchairs can be reserved at state parks, historic sites and a wildlife center.
The Action Trackchair was designed by a Minnesota based company. The wheelchair is electric with heavy set wheels and treads.
All-terrain wheelchairs are also available in Minnesota through the Department of Natural Resources
