ELDERS CLIMATE ACTION
USA.
Program Description
“Elders Climate Action is calling on elders to take the pledge and stand together behind our common commitment to restoring a livable climate for future generations. Through this unified voice we can create the political will necessary to break through the gridlock.”

Seniors can help prevent climate change by:
- Serving on an Elders Climate Action Planning Committee
- Be an Elders Climate Action Ambassador: recruit older adults to get involved with the organization, talk to groups about becoming partners, collect signatures on environmental petitions. Ambassadors are provided with information and resources.
- Serve as Elders Climate Action Liaison to a Member of Congress - share information about Elders Climate Action and build a relationship.
- Use special skills - bookkeeper, website developer, writer, public speaker, media expert, fundraiser, photographer, and more.
The environmental organization held the first Grandparents Climate Action Day in Washington, DC to raise awareness of climate change. A flash mob at Union Station, Washington, DC., by seniors called for Action on Climate Change.
The organization has excellent suggestions on their website for teaching grandchildren about the environment such as books on climate change for kids and online resources.
