"National Resource Center on LGBT Aging and FORGE are thrilled to share the new toolkit 'How to Be an Ally to Transgender Older Adults.' This toolkit provides education, resources, and practical tips for being an Ally.
We encourage you to share this toolkit with others interested in being an Ally in support of older Transgender family, friends and community members."

Along with providing transgender sensitivity training to health care providers and advocates, the Transgender Aging Network Training Program also covers sensitivity training on how to effectively serve and communicate with friends and family of transgender seniors.
Some of the program's training topics include:
-Transgender Aging 101.
-The Differences Between Transgender Elders and their Lesbian, Gay, or Bisexual Peers.
-National LGBT Aging and/or Transgender Policy Developments.
-Sexual Violence, Elder Abuse, and Sexuality of Transgender Adults Age 50+.
-Transgender Elders - Services, Advocacy and Health Issues.
-Transgender Inclusion Tips.
FORGE leads the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) arm of The National Resource Center for Reaching Victims.
The National Resource Center on LGBT Aging is the country’s first and only technical
assistance resource center aimed at improving the quality of services and supports offered
to lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender older adults. Established in 2010 through a
federal grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the National Resource
Center on LGBT Aging provides training, technical assistance and educational resources to
aging providers, LGBT organizations and LGBT older adults. The center is led by SAGE - Advocacy & Services for LGBT Elders in
collaboration with leading aging and LGBT organizations from around the country.
