ELDER ABUSE RESOURCES FOR VICTIMS
Across USA. Online.
Program Description
“Older adults may be harmed by spouses, partners, adult children, or other family members, caregivers, or others. They may experience physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, abandonment, exploitation, and neglect. Often several forms of abuse may be occurring at the same time.”
“Many victims of abuse in later life feel alone and ashamed as a result of the abuse. They may blame themselves for the abuse or feel they have nowhere to turn. They may also feel pressure from others not to reach out for help or fear no one will believe them.”
