Program Description
Examples of free senior home modifications covered under Alaska Medicaid may include:
-Wheelchair Ramps
-Handrails and grab bars
-Lift systems (stair lifts and platform lifts)
-Roll-in showers
-Elevated toilets and other bathroom accessibility
-Wider doorways
An E-Mod Home Accessibility care coordinator makes an in-home assessment of what home modifications and repair assistance seniors need.
Medicaid certified contractors complete the necessary home modifications and the care coordinator manages the paperwork for the contractor and the seniors.
