Program Description
The service was inspired by Bae Gee-Gun, who saw large numbers of elderly sitting in parks with nothing to do. He posted job openings in parks and senior centers and hired those who replied.
Seoul is a city heavy with traffic and the subway offers a quick alternative to getting around. The average age of retirement in South Korea is younger at mid to late 50's.
The service delivers a wide range of items, some of which include documents or flowers.
Seniors have reported great satisfaction with their jobs and have improved their health as a result of the additional exercise.
