Program Description
“These 57 units of supportive housing was our way of addressing the elder housing crisis. Our mission is to keep elders independent and aging in the communities they love. This Project is a remarkable accomplishment for our agency and continues our goal of assisting in the redevelopment of the Roxbury community.”

“In 2011, with the housing crisis escalating, Catherine Hardaway led CBES in the development of 57 units of elder supportive housing, striving to prevent displacement of neighborhood residents and fulfill the CBES mission of keeping elders independent and aging in the communities they love. In 2012, elders from the community moved into the residence.”

The Catherine Hardaway Residence consists of 57 low-income elderly housing units
Each apartment at the elderly housing facility is about 540 square feet with some larger handicapped-accessible units. There are private baths, kitchen and walk-in closets and common areas include a library and TV room.
The residence was funded by The National Equity Fund, Inc, MassHousing, Community Economic Development Assistance Corporation and the city’s neighborhood development department.
Central Boston Elder Services aims to provide high quality, responsive, supportive services and programs to the elderly and the disabled in need of health and human services.
